Meeting point
The tour starts at Cité de l’Océan in the south of Biarritz. Please arrive 5 minutes before departure time.
Itinerary
During this 4 hour roadtrip, Clémence, your epicurean guide, will reveal the many secrets of the region, famous for its culinary traditions.

Travel through the scenic Basque countryside to Sare, where you’ll meet the famous Kintoa pigs in their natural mountain habitat and learn about this renowned local breed.
Afterwards, visit a local artisan charcuterie to taste a variety of traditional Basque cured meats, including saucisson, lomo, chorizo, and ham, paired with a local wine for the perfect flavor experience.
We will then head to the village of Itxassou to discover local Ossau Iraty cheese, made from ewe’s milk. Visit the farm of Mirentxu, the shepherd, to learn about her work, meet the sheep, and discover the cheesemaking process. Taste the rich flavors of this local cheese, served the Basque way with a touch of black cherry jam & a glass of local cider — a delicious tradition unique to the region!
How could we end this gourmet tour without tasting our famous Basque cake? Visit an authentic 18th-century watermill in Bidart, still in operation and producing its own flour. Discover the secrets of the traditional Basque cake, made either with black cherry or cream, and enjoy a delicious slice paired with a local liqueur — a perfect finale to your Basque culinary adventure!
